Astoria Queens NY Fatal Death From Gunshot

 An event transpired early Monday morning in Astoria, Queens, where NYPD officers fatally shot a 61-year-old individual. Officers reacted to several 911 calls reporting a person wielding a large knife and acting erratically. Upon their arrival, the officers interacted with the individual, striving to de-escalate the situation. They utilized multiple stun guns; however, these proved ineffective. The individual then moved towards the officers, prompting them to discharge their weapons. The man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition and subsequently succumbed to his injuries. The NYPD is carrying out an inquiry into the occurrence, which includes an examination of body-worn camera recordings.

Large Fight Involving Juveniles At 3515 Promenade Place

 Officers responded to a report of a large fight involving juveniles at 3515 Promenade Place in Waldorf. Upon arrival, they found a juvenile victim with a broken nose who reported being assaulted by multiple individuals who stole his shoes. Officers quickly located four juvenile suspects fleeing the scene, all of whom were identified as participants in the assault and robbery. The suspects, aged between 13 and 17 years old, were charged under juvenile law and released to their guardians. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to identify additional individuals involved in the incident.
