In AURORA, CO the police have taken into custody a man thought to be implicated in a double homicide by stabbing that occurred on Sunday, June 29, 2025. Ricky Roybal-Smith, 38, from Aurora, Colorado is now charged with two counts of first-degree murder after an arrest order was secured late Wednesday afternoon. The two victims, both experiencing homelessness, were found stabbed to death in distinct events that Aurora police initially suspected were linked. Detectives have since confirmed the incidents are connected. Roybal-Smith was already detained in Denver on other criminal unrelated accusations when the warrant was authorized. He will be moved to Adams County jail.

In SACRAMENTO, CA a criminal driver is suspected of DUI after their Corvette crashed into a California Highway Patrol (CHP) vehicle at a high rate of speed on Friday night, injuring a CHP officer and the driver. The incident occurred around 10:45 p.m. on northbound Highway 99 near Sheldon Road in Sacramento County.  According to the CHP, an officer was providing security for a construction zone when their patrol vehicle was struck from behind by the Corvette.
