Hey #ApronCladArmy 💗 Just a thought… now everyone is an honorary housewife, it’s a time to shine and show the world how it’s done! …. With grace, love, and by fine example. 🎀 @reesewitherspoon got it right when she said Southern girls are like Whiskey in a Teacup… Dainty, pretty, charming, graceful and seemingly passive on the outside – but strong, confident, able to take control, and absolutely capable of taking your breath away. Don’t underestimate her strength based on the packaging. . . The same can be said for #TraditionalHousewives. ☕️ Let’s remember to be both soft, and strong. Though it’s tough to reach out the community in person at this time, we can still do SO much with our hearts and minds… It seems a lot of people are anxious about staying home, caring for their homes, and teaching their children 24/7 – so they’ll need to see with their own eyes it’s possible to do it well, do it peacefully, AND be happy staying home. Let’s reach out where we can, be a listening ear, share the skills we’ve learned and let’s keeping smiling (at a distance). We got this! 🧼🧽🧹🧺⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let’s show ‘em what we’re made of ladies! Let’s stay home, AND enjoy it. 🏡 . . 💗 A great BIG thank you to those “Whiskey in a Teacup” key workers who aren’t staying home so WE can. You are heroes! 🌟 . . . 📸 by the fabulous @carleandmoss 👗 #gifted from @bombshellhq 🇬🇧 made kitchen island @cotswoldco . . . #tradwife #traditionalhousewife #housewife #vintagestyle #traditionalliving #homemakers #tradwives #homemakingministries #howtobeahousewife #beautifulhomemaking #femininefamily #femininewomen #ladieslikeus #housewifeblogger #gracefulliving #englishetiquette #femininity #southernbelle #southernliving #preppystyle #stepfordwife #MakeTheHousewifeGreatAgain #TheDarlingAcademy #cotswoldco #countrylivinguk #englishcountrystyle #whiskeyinateacup

Queen Mothers 👑 Now more than ever I think some of us are realising that life is too short on this Earthly plane. So to keep spirits up – why don’t we stay as positive as we can, despite the circumstances, and treat this Mothering Sunday as a re-birth of sorts? We’ll be out the other side soon, and when we are – what would you like to do (or feel) differently? 🦋 . . We are ALL capable of making the changes we’ve always dreamed of, it’s NEVER too late for a fresh start, or a new look! . . Most of you know I’m a big fan of a “Ladies Like Us” makeover. Also, to prove the point further – think Pretty Woman, My Fair Lady, The Princess Diaries, Cinderella, Clueless, Miss Congeniality – all the best movies have them! Hidden beauty AND grace. Why keep it all for pretend, reserved to fairytales, fantasy, movies and books? . . We tell our kids ALL the time that they can be anything they want to be, and yet, stifle that dream for ourselves… Even if those dreams are “just being a Mum”. But let’s face it, grotty t-shirts and yoga pants hardly a chic-Mum make. No wonder the art of Mothering and Homemaking has lost its lustre in recent decades. It’s just not pretty… Time to change that ladies! I don’t know about you, but even something as simple as dressing nicely and working on your inner beauty will make you feel like you can rule the world (or perhaps just a mountain of laundry). . . Here’s to being Mum, here’s to creating new life, here’s to not forgetting yourself in the process, and here’s to bringing all things pretty back into the day to day. Lord knows we need to look to the promises of a brighter tomorrow! 🌸 . . Happy Mother’s Day to all of you! 👑 . . 📸 @carleandmoss – a dream to work with! Alongside her lengthy caption, the mum posted photos of her sitting reading Reese Witherspoon’s book Whiskey in a Teacup as she modelled a 1950s floral dress with a matching headband.
One replied: “Literally in my element. All 3 of my children at home, routine in place, 3 meals a day eating together as a family. Wish it wasn’t because of a pandemic … but embracing our situation regardless.”
Another gushed: “What an incredible message.”
Writing on her blog, Alena, who has a son, said: “If my husband wants to ‘pay me’ to stay at home doing the things I need to do to make sure my child and I survive, and all I have to do is lay out one extra plate and make sure his underpants are clean – that’s a trade I’m more than happy with!”

She admitted she does “submit to him the larger details”, but is happy to be ‘rescued’ from life’s tougher situations.
But Alena claims she is “empowered” and not a “dimwit”, saying: “If being a ‘traditional housewife’ means cooking, cleaning, doing the school run, and being there (and being attentive) towards him when he gets home, then doing ‘just’ that or being defined as ‘submissive’ is fine by me.”
Appearing on BBC Stories, Alena – who has written books on femininity and etiquette – explained that she felt alienated growing up in the 90s when her peers were obsessed with “girl power”.
She said: “The culture at the time was anything but what I enjoyed and it definitely made me feel like an outsider.”
