Lisa Vanderpump has had an extremely rough time lately. First, she lost her brother and now her mother has also passed away. The stress of all of this loss made it too difficult to deal with the cattiness on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
“I made the decision to leave,” the restauranteur told Us Weekly. “It was a very difficult year for me, personally and professionally. I had wonderful things happen this year, opening up and TomTom and the cocktail garden in Vegas. The Housewives, it’s just, it’s emotionally too difficult to deal with.”
Vanderpump was an OG of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. But this season, all of the women turned against her after Dorit Kemsley adopted a dog from Vanderpump’s Vanderpump Dogs foundation and then dropped it off at a shelter.
The women accused Vanderpump of talking to the press about Kemsley, which she vehemently denied. After falling out with all of the women, including her longtime friend, Kyle Richards, Vanderpump decided to stop filming scenes with her castmates. As a result, a lot of the things that she did film were cut out of the show.
“Lisa is extremely hurt that several scenes that she filmed for RHOBH have been cut because it’s all about her philanthropy work which she loves to proudly show off,” a source close to the show told HollywoodLife. “She feels that since there’s no drama, they got cut, but she wants to show off that side of her life and is really disappointed that those scenes got cut because that’s a big part of her life as a real housewife.”
“It’s a mix of emotions because it’s an end of an era for her and she feels upset that she will barely be shown, especially on a project she worked so hard on, Vanderpump Cocktail Garden,” a close source told HollywoodLife. “Lisa knows it was her choice not to film with the other ladies, but she is still frustrated that more of her life wasn’t shown in the final episodes. She is happy they are choosing to show her in the finale, though.”
“I didn’t watch obviously, but the army at my house looking after my furry people did, and I heard from all of you about the nastiness once again,” she tweeted. “I am in London for my mother’s funeral, I hope that after this awful year I can start life again.”
“She is iconic, and I am so glad that we will continue to see more of Lisa in all of her glory on Vanderpump Rules… She will always be the Queen of Diamonds in the Bravo universe,” he said on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live
