Meghan King Edmonds Won’t Miss the “Meanness” of ‘RHOC’ After Leaving the Show (EXCLUSIVE)

She’s no Regina George. In an exclusive interview with Life Style, Meghan King Edmonds opened up about her decision to leave The Real Housewives of Orange County, which she starred on for three seasons from 2015 to 2017. According to the blonde beauty, 33, the cattiness that came with filming the long-running reality series was getting harder and harder to handle.

“I don’t enjoy the meanness that inherently comes with being a part of the cast. I despise mean people,” Meghan told Life Style, adding that she came to the realization that it was time to say goodbye to the Bravo show while taping the Season 12 reunion. “Going into the Season 12 reunion I wanted to come back for Season 13, but by the end of the reunion I knew I was going to leave.”

The pregnant reality star — who is expecting twin boys and already shares daughter Aspen, 14 months, with husband Jim Edmonds — added, “My husband urged me to sit on my decision for a while so I went back and forth for about a month before coming to my final decision.” Meghan also sought the advice of her psychic, Mystic Michaela. “She said I could stay or leave and it was completely up to me,” Meghan shared. “She could see my life outcomes with either decision.”

While she won’t miss the arguments and tears that often result from the dramatic story lines featured on Housewives, Meghan told Life Style that she will miss working with co-stars Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador on a daily basis. However, “I think we will always keep in touch,” she assured.

The model initially revealed the news in a January blog post. “Today is a bittersweet day for me. After three seasons of the rollercoaster that is The Real Housewives of Orange County I’ve decided to hang up my OC Housewife hat,” she wrote. “As you might suspect filming this show takes a massive emotional toll: I’m literally filming my real life in real time and engaged in situations and circumstances which can be contentious.”

She went on to say that filming the show was “grueling,” specifically during her third and final season when she “had a newborn and had to hire a full time live-in nanny (my cousin) so as to allow me the flexibility to meet my obligations of continuous days and long hours of filming, traveling, etc.”

Now that she won’t have to worry about the stress of cameras following her every move, Meghan is excited to fully focus on her new life as a soon-to-be mom-of-three, as well as her entrepreneurial endeavors. “I’m really trying to focus on my pregnancy and my kids but I have another baby, a personal care line called The King Collection by K Hall Studio,” she proudly told Life Style. “The line is made up of high-end personal care items — including candles and diffusers — and can be purchased online or wholesale.”
