KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) — A Knoxville man was arrested Sunday after a woman called the police saying she has been shot at.
According to a police report, the woman found Devin Lane behind a closed door with a minor. Lane allegedly had his pants down, and the minor had her underwear pulled down.
The woman told police she started to yell at Lane, and he began breaking objects in the home.
According to the report, Lane then fled to his vehicle where he retrieved a handgun and fired shots at the woman.
When police arrived, the report said Lane told officers he did not own a gun and did not fire shots. However, officers report they recovered one .40 caliber shell casing from the yard, and two magazines in Lane’s vehicle.
Police said the juvenile was taken to Children‘s Hospital for further care and tests.
Lane was charged with attempted second-degree murder and taken to the Knox County Detention Center.
A child abuse investigation is ongoing.
