“Real Housewives of Orange County” cast member Lydia McLaughlin won’t be returning for Season 13 of the Bravo TV show.
“RHOC has given me a great platform and I’m grateful for that.” she announced in her Bravo blog on Friday, Feb. 9. “However, I feel like I can only handle this show one season at a time. I need a break!”
She added, “There is a lot of good that comes from the show, but also a lot of negativity.”

McLaughlin, 36, said her family agreed in a “unanimous” vote that she should leave the show, adding she has “lots of other dreams to make come true in my life and in no way do I want to make a career out of being a housewife.”

She and her husband Doug first appeared on the show in Season 8, and again in Season 12. They have three young sons, and she publishes a magazine and designs jewelry, among other endeavors.
McLaughlin is the second Orange County “Housewife” to announce her departure this year. In January, Meghan King Edmonds, who is expecting twin boys with husband Jim Edmonds, also said she’d leave the show. The Edmonds are building a home in the midwest.
