Dipika Kakar: I am a complete homemaker now

Actress Dipika Kakar, who got married to actor Shoaib Ibrahim recently, is all set to make her comeback on-screen with Ekta Kapoor’s Qayamat Ki Raat. In a candid chat with TimesofIndia.com, the actress talks about her life post marriage and upcoming TV show.

You are making a comeback on small screen after a long time. What kept you busy all this while?

I was enjoying and living the housewife life to the fullest. I am a complete homemaker now. I also helped Shoaib in his work at that time. Overall I was having a gala time.

How do you strike a balance between personal and professional life?

Balancing between personal and professional life is not at all difficult. If you handle things with full concentration then you will love your job, same in my case. I am enjoying both my duties completely.

As you are doing fantasy thriller show Qayamat Ki Raat, how challenging it was for you to fit into this genre?

This show is quite challenging as compared to doing normal daily soaps. To fit in this genre, there are two things that need to be taken into consideration. First, you have to adapt to the reality which is not real because as an actor I have to convince myself and second, physically it is tiring as well.

Promo of the show seems to be horror, have you experienced any paranormal activity in real life?

No, I have not experienced anything supernatural as of now. But sometimes I do feel scared when I travel alone.

How much do you miss your show Sasural Simar Ka?

Sasural Simar Ka has been really close to my heart because I did it for 5 years. In every actor‘s life, you will find one role which has made them popular, and in my case, it is Sasural Simar Ka.

Did you always want to be an actor?

No, I always wanted to be an air hostess, so that was the reason I came to Mumbai and started working with an airline. After working for three years, I left it for due to medical reasons.
